The Knee

It has been 3 months to the day that my date had his knee operated on.

He has returned to playing tennis.

After he comes home he ices his knee.

My sympathy stays in the freezer, to be thawed only for a real emergency.

Overall, he says it is "fine" but he feels he is "one or two steps slow" at tennis.  He says this means he is not as quick to get to the ball.  This obviously bothers him as this morning he came into the bedroom with a pile of assorted items to help strengthen his quadriceps.

He had leg weights, pain, two bed pillows and a large inflatable exercise ball.  He quickly determined that the exercise ball was too large for him to use to prop his knee up.  He had a smaller, more suitable ball but one of our dogs popped it by biting it.

As he was doing leg lifts, the kitten was leaping at him.  His leg in the air looked a lot like one of the kitten's toys that we raise and lower in the air for him to jump at.  You really couldn't blame the kitten.

  It could be worse.

I am afraid the sympathy clock has..... RUN OUT!
