Trip to Hawaii Part II

One of the "group activities" we attended was a sunset dinner cruise.
It was on a 65 foot, $3.2 million catamaran.
The boat was unbelievably luxurious.
When we boarded about 4 PM there were lots of appetizers and an open bar.

Maui is always windy but there was a storm nearby so the water was much choppier than usual.
The water was rough.
12 foot waves washing over the front of the bow kind of rough.

10 minutes after we left I started feeling a little queasy.

Soon it was full blown nausea.
One lady had already barfed.

I went to find a nice place in the breeze.
This did not help.
I tried to find the accupressure point on my arm to stop nausea but this did not help either.

No one had brought any dramamine.
The crew could not give out any due to liability.
Then they started grilling the dinner of filet
mignon and mahimahi.

The smell did not help the situation out at all.
I started seeing other people staring intently at
the horizon.

Soon an entire group of people were feeling sick.
This went on the entire 3 1/2 hour cruise.
When we got back to the harbor we had to wait to dock because of boat traffic.
I was ready to swim to shore.
I did not care what else was in the water.
Of course, some people had a great time.
They ate and drank and laughed loudly.
I did not need any more sensory input.

I missed the entire sunset show.
